Thomas J. Mowbray, Ph.D.
Tom Mowbray, PhD's professional activities include: Book Series Editor of the WWISA/Prentice Hall Software Architecture Series, Founding Advisory Boardmember of the Worldwide Institute of Software Architects (WWISA.org), Co-Founder and Chairman of the Internet Component Management Group (iCMG) http://www.icmgworld.com Dr. Mowbray co-authored the book, "The Essential CORBA: Systems Integration Using Distributed Objects". With Raphael Malveau he co-authored the advanced books, "CORBA Design Patterns" , which was the basis of a hands-on training course at the CORBA Academy, and "Software Architect Bootcamp" which is the first book in the new WWISA/Prentice Hall Software Architecture series. With William A. Ruh, Dr. Mowbray co-authored the book, "Inside CORBA" which is edited by Grady Booch, Ivar Jacobson, and Jim Rumbaugh for Addison Wesley Longman (1997). With Skip McCormick, Bill Brown, and Raphael Malveau, Dr. Mowbray co-authored the book "AntiPatterns: Refactoring Software, Architectures, and Projects in Crisis" Dr. Mowbray is a former Chief Scientist at Blueprint Technologies, Inc., a company developing design patterns tools, architecture consulting, and training. Tom is an Honorary Fellow of the Object Management Group (OMG) and co-authors the AntiPatterns column with Bill Brown in Distributed Computing Magazine. He co-authored three books on distributed object architectures: The Essential CORBA, CORBA Design Patterns, and Inside CORBA. Dr. Mowbray writes the Software Architecture column for OBJECT Magazine. Dr. Mowbray holds the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, the M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Stanford University, and the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. |
