• Hidden agendas
  • On Wall Street, up to 75% of programmer compensation is incentive bonus
  • In all industries, most senior IT managers are incentivised and are competing against other IT managers
• Negative training or background
• Defensiveness: Fear of the unknown
• Intellectual Arsenic = Obsession with a pet idea
